Eat, Pray, Naches … food, faith and the joys of Jewish life are discovered in chatting with Eva (Darling, Impossible!) and Elana (My Mother’s Spice Cupboard).
Novelist Eva Novy spins her story around a young woman who wants to uncover the Hungarian world kept from her by family.
Elana Benjamin, whose book is subtitled A Journey from Baghdad to Bombay to Bondi, celebrates her “Baghdadi” Indian roots and her community which thrived in turn of the century Bombay.
Eva and Elana both went to the same Jewish day school and yet their worlds are so different, reflecting the mosaic of backgrounds characteristic of the Jews of Waverley.
