Ian Bedford

Ian Bedford was a Sydney-based writer who lived and travelled in India, Pakistan, Iran and south Central Asia. He worked for many years in the Anthropology Department at Macquarie University before turning to fiction writing in retirement. Ian passed away on 10 March 2015.

The Last Candles of the Night was his fourth published novel, published in 2014 by Lacuna. The South Asian rights to the novel were sold in 2015 to Indian publisher Speaking Tiger, who have also acquired the rights to one of Ian's earlier novels, A View from the Bund.
